of the Dust and Feathers

They were bold and breath-taking

Leaving behind the small coughs of a society

Blew with the wind,

Did the everlasting strength befall them.

And with hope and sudden dread,

Did these such people go forth

And build themselves a castle of gold;

A new form for which in to fit.

Pearl and diamonds form the beating chest

Bones protruded and could not be shattered

Gift by gift

They blessed themselves with empty bellies

And force of will.

"One more day..." they said,

"...and we will be like the Dust and Feathers."
